Types of bone fractures
Greenstick Fracture
A partial break where the bone bends and cracks, common in children due to softer, more flexible bones.
Comminuted Fracture
The bone shatters into three or more pieces. Usually from severe trauma and often requires surgical repair.
Open (Compound) Fracture
The bone breaks through the skin, increasing the risk of infection. Requires immediate medical attention and often surgery.
Hairline (Stress) Fracture
A tiny crack in the bone, often from overuse or repetitive stress. Common in athletes, especially runners.
Medium Brush Stroke
Spiral Fracture
A twisting force causes the bone to break in a spiral pattern. Often seen in sports or abuse cases.
